We want groups of teenagers to pitch for change. Here’s how…

  • We are looking for groups of ambitious 15-18 year-olds to take part in The Charity Den. This is a chance for you and your friends to be the change you want to see in a community that matters to you.

  • You have the chance to win funding for a charitable cause of your own design. Fund a class trip, purchase music equipment, sponsor an orphanage; there are no limits to the good you can accomplish.

  • The Charity Den is an opportunity for you to take control in helping a community that matters to you. This opportunity also offers real-world experience in running a project with your peers, offering invaluable experience for your future. (Plus it’ll look great on your UCAS applications!)

  • For the chance to receive funding, you will have to submit The Charity Den Project Proposal Form outlining how your idea will work. Real-life proposals require research and planning, don’t worry though, we have laid out a Resource Pack to guide you through the content.

Once you have submitted your project proposal to KICK, you will pitch your idea to us. This will be your chance to display the hard work you have put in.

Kanwardeep Ahluwalia

“What does it take to help someone?

Time? Definitely. Money? Probably. Resources? Generally.

The most powerful agent is something else; it starts with an idea. KICK was founded on the principle that ideas matter. Ideas should be encouraged, nurtured, celebrated. This is your chance for your ideas to be heard.”

 FAQs

  • If you have any questions about taking part, how it works, or just want to talk, please send us a message here.

  • If you are struggling to complete your project proposal, or simply want to run something by us about your project, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us here.

  • The Charity Den is open to all applications that aim to support a legitimate cause at your school, community or the wider world. A legitimate cause has to address a proper need. We would not, for example, support the sponsoring of resources for well off communities or schools.

  • The limit for a standard application is funding of up to £1000. However, we don’t want to curtail your ambition. Project proposals seeking more money will need to reflect their higher asking price with a higher standard of research and planning. We would also be eager to have a consistent communication stream with project teams asking for larger sums of money.

  • We envision teams being between 2 and 5 participants, though solo applicants are also warmly welcome!

  • No! The Charity Den is designed to be inclusive for all levels of experience and knowledge. Our learning materials, found in the downloadable resource packs, take you through everything you need to know about designing your project proposal and then successfully pitching it to us.

  • The Charity Den Resource Pack will outline everything you need to know to write a comprehensive proposal and deliver a fantastic pitch. If you require further support, do not hesitate to contact us here.

  • Your pitch is a chance for you to show your work and present it to us in a more human way. Our resource pack includes the KICK Pitch Canvas, which outlines what a great pitch includes, you can find it here.

  • We are open to participants working on multiple project proposals at the same time. However, our preference is that participants focus on one proposal in order to see it through to it’s completion.

  • Let a teacher at your school know that you’re interested, and ask them to email us at kickcharity0@gmail.com to inform us. We will then coordinate your participation in The Charity Den with your school.

  • If you’re aged between 15 and 18 we’d love for you to participate in The Charity Den.

  • If you are a teacher supervising students whilst working on their project proposals and have any questions about the process or learning materials, reach out to us here, or refer to our Document for Teachers Supervising The Charity Den.
